Scenario Details:

You are now going to provide an investigation report to the SIO

Using the structure in Chapter 4 of the manual, write a finalised report making findings and recommendations.  You will be assessed on:

  • The characteristics of good report writing
  • Soundness of your findings and recommendations
  • Adherence to the standards of proof
  • The evidence you collected and linked to the proofs.

Treat this as though you are the lead investigator, and focus on how you would approach the task.

I, as the Senior Investigating Officer expect to see you have considered the overall picture, and all the evidence. Of interest to me is the case chronology so pay particular attention to that and make sure you update it as you are provided further evidence.

The report is to be no more than 3,000 words.

Senior Investigating Officer
